This fundraiser supports our non profit work and sponsors featured gardens in the Village of Shelburne Falls at The Falls Overlook, Malley Park, Cricket Park, and The Mill. Plan to visit our center before the show!

About Luke Concannon:

Luke Concannon has early memories of falling asleep at irish family parties to the sound of guitars, singing, and dancing. he has been making music in community ever since. upon meeting double-bassist john parker in school, the two formed the folk hip-hop duo nizlopi (best known for the ‘jcb song’), selling a million records in their twenties and deeply influencing the young ed sheeran who interned with them. through the strain of recording and touring world-wide with a small family-run label, nizlopi parted ways.

Invigorated by a hitch-hiking trip to palestine, luke wrote his first solo album, ‘give it all,’ kindling the fire for a solo singer-songwriter career. ‘ecstatic bird in the burning,’ luke's 2022 album, debuted at number 12 in the folk charts on both sides of the atlantic, including a number 7 single, ‘doing nothing,’ and garnered rave reviews:

“CONCANNON DAZZLES … FOLK MUSIC WITH A LITTLE EXTRA SOMETHING.” – DANCING ABOUT ARCHITECTURE

A pandemic collaboration with multi-instrumentalist composer Darius Christian  (Macklemore/Leslie Odom Jr) led to the singles ‘What Would You Change,’ ‘Brother,’ and ‘Dance with You.’ These and more appear on Luke and Darius's new album, ‘Midnight Bloom’ (2025).

Luke followed his love, Stephanie Hollenberg, to the United States in 2016. Stephanie is a singer, creator, and spiritual caregiver, and frequently performs alongside Luke. Luke, Stephanie and their wee babe reside on Abenaki land, in a yurt in the Vermont woods with wonderful neighbours and a parliament of bard owls.

“Luke is one of my three main heroes, along with Van morrison and Damien Rice.” – Ed Sheeran

Whisperholler in Concert ~ Celebrating 50 Years of Songwriting

Whisperholler in Concert ~ Celebrating 50 Years of Songwriting

Springtime Indoor Concert with Ernie Whisperholler, joined by special guests!

Enjoy a night of music with us as Whisperholler shares a lifetime of original music influenced by folk, blues, and old time with a sometimes witty, sometimes profound flow of lyrical creativity. For over fifty years Ernie Hansche, AKA Whisperholler has been writing songs and tunes inspired by his experiences as a handyman, laborer, landscaper, carpenter, dairy farm hand, Wilderness guide and father. Observing Nature and seeking spiritual and life answers has led him to write songs from the sacred to the profane and back again. A Whisperholler show promises to include footstomping anthems, call and response, introspective reverie; songs spanning the spectrum from raunchy to reverent.

Ernie Whisperholler will be joined by a few friends to color in between the broad musical lines sketched by this storytelling, understated sage. The palette Ernie chooses from include many stringed instruments including banjo, guitar, mandola, bouzouki, ukulele, and maybe harmonica and spoons. You’ll be surprised to hear so many songs you’ve never heard before that feel like old standards from the past two centuries with a fresh flavor.

Mr. Whisperholler started playing the guitar in 1970. As soon as he picked it up, he began writing songs, because for him it felt easier to write his own songs than it was to learn someone else’s. Fortunately, none of his earliest songs will be included in this show as they sometimes caused a mass exodus of anything with ears. With practice Ernie became a pretty decent prolific songwriter, scribbling ideas during work breaks on paper towels, sheetrock and stray pieces of wood. These rambling thoughts have resulted in a sizable catalogue of classic americana music. Ernie also has penned many jaw dropping instrumentals. Some of these will be included in this show as well.

Arrive early to peruse our resource center and gift shop!
